Many of you have asked for it and now that we've started the New Year, we are able to start it off with offering you Interac eTransfers. If you are already signed up to use our Internet Banking, you are also signed up for using this new Interac eTransfer function. Send a surprise Birthday gift to a friend, send some "help money" to your child away at university or use it for any other reason you wish. To get started, all you have to do is go to the "Transfers" section of the Internet Banking and set up your own profile. Then, when you are ready to send someone an Interac eTransfer, set that persons profile up. You don't need their bank account information, you only need their email address. You'll also be asked to set up a security question, which that person will need to answer with just one word. For example, you could ask "what is your cat's name". You will need to know the answer of course and make sure the spelling is correct. Once you have set up the profiles and you go to send the Interac eTransfer, your friend will get a notification within 30 minutes that you have sent them a transfer. They can follow the secure link in the notification and within seconds, answer your security question and have the money in their own bank account! It's that easy. No need to find a postage stamp, go to a mail box and wait a few days or weeks for the cheque to clear. For more information, feel free to call us. We'll be more than happy to help.
WIRE TRANSFER INFO UPDATE, JAN 2012Please view the updated information required when sending or receiving wire transfers. By following this link, you can see what information you should provide someone if they are sending you a wire transfer in Canadian dollars, US dollars or Euros. This information has once again been updated by Central 1. It is important that instructions are provided correctly in order for your wire transfer to arrive quickly and to the correct account.

FAMILY FINANCE INFORMATION BOOKLET, NOV 2011November is Financial Literacy Month. We decided to help our members and their families keep track of their financing. It is difficult when a family member becomes temporarily or permanently incapacitated. Even more difficult is when a family member passes away. There are so many things for the loved ones to take care of, that we wanted to help ease the burden for them. We've developed a booklet for our members to fill in key information about their pensions, homes, legal documents, insurance etc so that when someone has to start figuring things out, all the information is in one easy booklet. Let us know if you'd like one of the booklets. It's free if you come to pick it up at the branch. If you would like for us to mail you one, the cost is $5.00 when mailed in Canada.
HIPPO CLUB PARTY, NOV 2011We had a great turnout at our annual Hippo Club Party. We had a total of 31 children and 28 parents and grandparents join our festivities. The children ranged from age 4 months to 10 years old. Everyone had a great time playing air hockey, foozball, basketball, hide and seek, dressing up, bouncing in the castle, climbing, sliding, chatting, eating and making new friends. If you have a special child in your life between the ages of 0 and 11, open a trust account for them and they'll automatically become members of the Osuuspankki Hippo Club, receive quarterly newsletters and the special invitation for the annual Hippo Club Party! Thank you to the ladies at the Extreme Fun Indoor Playground for providing such a clean, fun and safe place for our group to celebrate our Hippo Club Members! We have had our party at their facility for three years now and look forward to having next year's party there as well.
NEW SCHOLARSHIP AT OSUUSPANKKIEero Blomberg was born in Terijoki Finland on February 26th, 1926. He moved to Canada in 1953. Eero valued a strong education and bequeathed much of his estate to the Finnish Credit Union for a scholarship fund to be set up for the younger Finnish-
Canadian generations. Although Eero lived in various parts of Ontario, he relished his life while living on a farm where he grew different fruits and made ciders thanks to his plentiful orchard. Eero passed away on April 22nd, 2010.
Eero set out specific stipulations in his will as to how the "Eero's Memorial Fund" was to operate. This year, the Finnish Credit Union is proud to present four (4) bursaries in the amounts of $5,000 each. The application which is found online, is also available at our branch. Recipients will be announced by the end of the year. The deadline for all Scholarship Applications was September 30th, 2011.
