Eero's Memorial FundChanges to the Eero's Memorial Fund in 2012. For 2012, applicants do not need to be members of our credit union. As before, the Eero's Memorial Fund will award 4 students who are in their 2nd year or higher of university with a bursary of $5,000 each. To read more about who Eero Blomberg was, read our OP News section. Eero stipulated the following specific criteria in order to qualify for his bursary:
Candidates must be a Canadian citizen, having a parent or grand parent who was born in Finland.
Candidates must submit transcripts of their final year in high school proving an overall average of 75% or higher
Candidates must submit a one-page, single spaced, font size 12, essay on what "being of Finnish heritage" means to them.
Candidates must provide details of which parent/grand parent was of Finnish heritage
Hanne Maijala Memorial Scholarship
For post-secondary studies in the arts. Qualifying students must be Osuuspankki members.
Marja Karlsson Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is dedicated in memory of a long-time General Manager of Osuuspankki, Marja Karlsson. It is granted to students entering their second or subsequent year of post-secondary studies at college or university and is given over two years. Qualifying students must be Osuuspankki Members.
Granted to students who are members of Osuuspankki and who demonstrate a combination of academic achievement, financial need and community involvement.
