Scholarships

Making your education years a bit easier. Ask us for details on how to apply for these scholarships, granted each year exclusively to student members of Osuuspankki.  All scholarship applications are due by September 30th in each school year.  


Eero's Memorial FundChanges to the Eero's Memorial Fund in 2012.  For 2012, applicants do not need to be members of our credit union.  As before, the Eero's Memorial Fund will award 4 students who are in their 2nd year or higher of university with a bursary of $5,000 each.   To read more about who Eero Blomberg was, read our OP News section.  Eero stipulated the following specific criteria in order to qualify for his bursary:
 

  • Candidates must be a Canadian citizen, having a parent or grand parent who was born in Finland.
  • Candidates must submit transcripts of their final year in high school proving an overall average of 75% or higher 
  • Candidates must submit a one-page, single spaced, font size 12, essay on what "being of Finnish heritage" means to them.
  • Candidates must provide details of which parent/grand parent was of Finnish heritage



Hanne Maijala Memorial Scholarship

For post-secondary studies in the arts.  Qualifying students must be Osuuspankki members.


Marja Karlsson Memorial ScholarshipThis scholarship is dedicated in memory of a long-time General Manager of Osuuspankki, Marja Karlsson. It is granted to students entering their second or subsequent year of post-secondary studies at college or university and is given over two years.  Qualifying students must be Osuuspankki Members.

Osuuspankki ScholarshipGranted to students who are members of Osuuspankki and who demonstrate a combination of academic achievement, financial need and community involvement.
